Formerly The Roseworthy Rams RUFC the club relocated at the beginning of the 2006 season when funding from Roseworthy College was withdrawn.

Having played in Grand Finals in 2004 (4th Div) and 2005 (3rd Div) Barossa went through 2006 undefeated beating Brighton in the Grand Final to take out the 3rd Division title.

In 2007 the club fielded two teams for the first time, Reserve Grade and 4th Division with both teams playing in finals and more recently, in 2022 both our Senior Men’s had an awesome season and made it to the finals.

In 2008 the club took a big step with the introduction of junior rugby in the Barossa Valley. In 2013 we fielded teams in U7, U8, U10, U12 and U14 age groups.

2013 also marked the start of another journey for the Barossa Rams – playing Premier Grade rugby for the first time in the club’s history, supported by a Premier Reserve side.

In 2018 Barossa Rams Juniors had their first ever championship win with U16s taking out the grand final flag.

Our Senior Men had an amazing season in 2023 and came away with not one, but two premiership flags with both our Premier and Reserve grades winning their Grand Finals.

The drive is now on to increase participation across the board. Our aim is to provide a family friendly rugby club for juniors of all ages from U7 to U18, three strong senior men’s sides and a competitive women’s team.

Our brand-new clubrooms is located at Tanunda in the famous Barossa Valley region of South Australia.

We have a base of local players boosted by visitors from interstate and overseas who are working in the local area, and our juniors graduating to senior rugby.
